How to make YouTube faster - Load videos fast
Over the years, YouTube has grown in popularity tremendously and watching YouTube videos has become a hobby for many people. It is so addictive that many people stay up until the wee hours of the morning just to watch their favorite videos. But, I guess all of us have already experienced the “annoying moments” with YouTube when the video we are watching keeps stopping, especially when we have a slow internet connection. When thinking of a solution, the first thing that comes to mind is to simply upgrade to a higher Internet connection speed offered by your ISP. Yes, of course, it can really improve buffering speed. But is there any other way to make YouTube go faster without upgrading to a higher internet connection speed?
Well the answer is yes! By improving your computer’s performance, tweaking your browser, and also installing accelerator software, you can make YouTube videos load much faster. Let’s start with Memory…
Memory upgrade to improve your computer’s performance:
The first thing we have to check when we want the videos to load much faster is if your PC has enough memory. It is useless to modify your browser like Mozilla Firefox or install Accelerator software if your computer is out of memory. During Internet video buffering, your PC has to put a certain amount of streaming into memory. And if your computer doesn’t have enough RAM, it has to rely on virtual memory, which means your computer would have to use the hard drive as temporary RAM. Obviously reading and writing data to RAM is much faster compared to hard drive which uses moving head to read and write data, that’s why it will not only increase buffer speed but also affect overall performance of your PC. So consider upgrading your PC’s RAM. It is recommended to go a little higher than the minimum requirements of the operating system. For example, if your PC is running Windows Vista, it is best if it has 1 GB of RAM for best performance.
Setting your browser:
It is also recommended to adjust your browser to make YouTube go faster. If you’re using Mozilla Firefox, you can change some of its settings by typing “about:config” in the address bar and then changing some of the settings that have to do with the pipeline. The easiest way to do this is by downloading and installing the FasterFox Mozilla Firefox add-on. This add-on automatically modifies your Mozilla Firefox to speed it up, allowing fast loading of videos from the Internet.

Playing the video while it is still buffered would only annoy it and also cause the buffering speed to slow down even more. If you’re not that excited to watch it, all the better if you just click the Pause button and wait for the charging bar to turn completely red, which means it’s fully charged. In this way, the computer does not need to decode the video and download data simultaneously, which allows the buffer speed to be faster, which also allows you to watch it as soon as possible without interruption.
