10 tips for a good resume: the sixth is a common mistake

Imagen
A video resume also known as a visume helps create a visual impact on recruiters. If you know Dubsmash, then this is not much different. Only that he would be recording his own script instead of lip syncing to someone else’s. It’s a platform for job seekers to convince recruiters to consider them. Reduces cost and time for stakeholders involved in the initial screening process. Studies indicate that it only takes recruiters 6 seconds to scan a resume and give you the proper invoice. Now if you can grab their attention for 30 seconds through video, then that’s something. But the plan can always backfire if the video resume isn’t good enough. So how do you do it? 1. Don’t recite your resume in text. Add something that you haven’t written on paper yet. It could be project work that shows your technical skills or your managerial skills. You can make it sound serious or funny. At the end of the day, it should be why the recruiter should consider you. ...

Converting THM to JPG files

Imagen
THM is a very small file that is often created by a camera to act as a thumbnail of an image, and more often a video. The file name has the extension THM. It is very easy to navigate through a series of images and videos at playback time without having to load the actual media file into memory. The video also has the same name, which is saved as THM, although there is a video extension called AVI. It can represent a THM file as the first video frame. This is the initial image you see when you preview a movie on a camera. For video, THM is often used to store data in much the same way as EXIF data for still images. It happens because a THM file is actually a small JPEG with a different extension. The JPG file extension is primarily associated with a ‘JPEG / JIFF Image’, which is nothing more than a lossy bitmap image format that all digital cameras use to display photos on the web. If you want to edit a JPEG file, you must first save it as BMP or another lossless bitmap...

What is DV and DVPro?

Imagen
DV is a format for storing video, audio, and digital metadata such as subtitles and subtitles. It was released in 1995 thanks to the joint efforts of various camcorder producers. DV uses lossy video compression while audio is stored uncompressed. An intra-frame video compression scheme is used to compress video frame-by-frame. All DV variants, except DVCPRO Progressive, are recorded on tape within an interlaced video stream. Film-like frame rates are possible through the use of film-to-video drop-down transfer. DVCPRO, also known as DVCPRO25, is a variation of DV developed by Panasonic and introduced in 1995 for use in electronic news gathering (ENG) equipment. In 1996, Sony responded with their own professional version of DV called DVCAM. Like DVCPRO, DVCAM uses blocked audio, which prevents the audio sync drift that can occur in DV if multiple generations of copies are made. DVCPRO50 was introduced by Panasonic in 1997 for high-value electronic news gathering and digital cinema a...

Importance of the rotoscopy technique in the film industry

Imagen
Rotoscopy is basically a technique used in animation, as animators capture the action live frame by frame to develop an animated film. Previously, captured live actions were projected onto a frosted glass panel and redrawn by the animator. This equipment used for projection is called a “Rotoscope”. Today this equipment has been replaced by computers. The visual effects industry today explains rotoscopy as a technique used to create a matte for an element on a live action plate to blend it with another background. The term rotoscopy generally abbreviated as “Broken” is used as a tool for visual effects in live action movies. Rotoscopy mainly involves cutting an image from a background and then replacing it with a new background or rotoscopy involves extracting a moving image from a video and replacing the background totally or partially with special effects. Using this technique, editors trace the motion of the live action film in each frame for use in a video. ...

I finally saved some money to upgrade my workstation for 2021 and am deciding between the following options. Background: I work on design, illustration and animation and currently have a late 2013 Macbook Pro with 8GB of RAM, 512 SSD, an iPad pro with stylus, and a Wacom Intuos media. I work on the full Adobe suite, including Aftereffects, as well as Toonboom Harmony, and am learning Blender. I teach and do commercial design work as a freelancer, and this year I am looking to expand my skills in Toonboom and Blender. I plan on upgrading to a newer Macbook Pro – the new 13-inch one probably with 1TB SSD and 16GB of RAM – and I’m primarily debating whether to upgrade my iPad 12.9 or buy a Cintiq Pro 24 The Cintiq’s screen space is far superior, but I don’t like the clumsiness of the Ergo Stand and wonder if people have any thoughts / comments on how this one works with a VESA mount. Alternatively, does anyone here work on Toonboom or Blender with the iPad pro...
